( H) 6 But God, who comforts the downcast, ( I) comforted us by the coming of Titus, ( J) 7 and not only by his coming but also by the comfort you had given him. ( E)ĥ For when we came into Macedonia, ( F) we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn ( G)-conflicts on the outside, fears within. ( C) I am greatly encouraged ( D) in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds. 4 I have spoken to you with great frankness I take great pride in you. 3 I do not say this to condemn you I have said before that you have such a place in our hearts ( B) that we would live or die with you. ( A) We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have exploited no one. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, ( V) and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.Ģ Make room for us in your hearts. 10 Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away ( U) from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

( S) Your hand ( T) must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil ( N) from among you.Ħ If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices ( O) you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” ( P) (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield ( Q) to them or listen to them. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn ( M) you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. 5 That prophet or dreamer must be put to death ( L) for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery.

( J) Keep his commands and obey him serve him and hold fast ( K) to him. 4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, ( I) and him you must revere. ( F) The Lord your God is testing ( G) you to find out whether you love ( H) him with all your heart and with all your soul. Psalm 49:14 : Isa 14:2 Da 7:18 1Co 6:2ġ3 If a prophet, ( A) or one who foretells by dreams, ( B) appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, 2 and if the sign ( C) or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” ( D) (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” 3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet ( E) or dreamer.Both are meant to go together with our daily prayer and communion service. Our hope is that the regular reminder will be of encouragement to us all to join the people of God in reading the Scriptures and praying. The historic church found expression in the same rhythms of worship and devotion that were evident in the early church, and among the Hebrews, God's people, before that.

The Scripture selections, and the prayers, are from common sources used by most Christians throughout the world. Together we read through the New Testament once a year, and the Old Testament every two years. Here you will find Scripture for the day (a Psalm for each morning (always at least the first Psalm) and night, and selections from the Old Testament, New Testament and Gospels), as well as weekly and daily prayers. The congregation of Countryside is encouraged to not only read ahead in the texts we will be sharing and studying together during our services, but also to personally read the Scriptures together as a congregation.
